Shoes...

I've always been a "Payless Shoes" kinda gal - great shoes, great prices. I don't care about name brands or anything extra fancy, just something to get me where I'm going. Unfortunatly the dress shoes I bought from them last month aren't working out. I like the way they look and they go with everything, only problem is I can't be in them more then 2 hours (sitting or walking) - they are just crippling after my 2 hour mark is up. So with my brothers up and coming wedding I need a pair to replace them with. I decided to look further than payless and figured I could swallow my routine and pay $10-$20 more than usual for something that would last longer and be more comfy.

I saw these and thought, wow. Those are cute.

Then I saw the price tag...

$470.00

No joke.

I knew Nordstroms could get bad, but man.

I've owned a handful of dependable cars that all together were still much cheaper than these shoes.

They look like the cadillacs of calf-crunchers. The things we do for style...I found some old, green suede Hush Puppy's at Value Village for $4(that I wore to the Co. Christmas party). Baby, they were FUNKY!

Lol, thats funny. Value Village rocks, if my feet weren't so big the possibilities would be endless.

Oh please, I bet your feet aren't bigger (or at least not much) than mine, and I find all sorts of shoes at Value Village. A few times I've seen a great selection in size 12 or 14 and knew immediately that a drag queen just updated her closet.

These shoes, however, are too masculine for a summer wedding. You need some strappy sandals that show more feet than shoe. If we do wear the same size, want to see my selection?

I love these shoes... JD can I have $470? No, maybe next seson Payless will have thier version of this shoe out.

LOL at Valette...drag queen... but she is right, a nice Strappy pair would be much better for a wedding.
What did you get?

I wear 11's and although I've seen pleanty of oxford, penny loafers, and flats, I have yet to find good pumps or straps at Value Village. I would just love to stumble upon some drag queens past collection though!! ha Maybe there's more drags in Fairbanks?

And as far as those shoes, they weren't what I was looking for, and probably wouldn't look very good on my feet, but ha, you know how a girl can get distracted when shopping. I was looking for strappies, but suddly found myself dreaming of how those shoes would look cute on my ugly feet! It was a great little moment.

I haven't found anything yet, I have to take the car into Anchorage Monday for a check up and thought I would bum my dads van and go find something then. I was browsing to see where to go in Anchorage, but unfortunatly I can't shop online. My toes have this habit of going crooked in strappies so its always like going hunting for the needle in a haystack to find shoes that hide that cursed little feature.

Larry the Cable guy says men dont care what we where on our feet...it is all about the shaven legs....shaved legs mean luck.....so i say go bare footed...just get a longer dress......then your feet wont be put throught the torture of trying not only to find a pair that wont end up causing night mares from the price...but no toe squishing either.....I dont think I have spent 400 dollars on all the shoes I have ever bought in my whole life....that is amazing that anyone would spend that kind of money on one pair of shoes........bare feet...gotta love em.

Hey! I wear 12's - and not a drag queen! Though I definately wouldn't mind if a queen did empty her closet the day before I browsed Value Village...

I'm all for spending big bucks on footwear. Your feet are worth it. There the only ones you have and sore feet effect your head down to your toes.

Keep looking but don't short change your feet.

Guys spend $300-400 on good boots.

Well fish taxi is right...every two years my husband needs new 200 dollar boots...funny cuz last year I bought him 50 dollare ones and he swears they are the best boots he has ever owned...dont tell him I bought them at Wall mart...he thinks they came from a "name brand".....
